Giota Gianna, Yiota Yianna (real name: Panayiota Yiannelou) [1928 - July 5th, 2023] was a Greek singer with a presence in the Greek music scene for over 50 years. She has sung in music venues of Athens, performing songs written by famous artists and by other major Greek singers such as Marinella, Poulopoulos, Dalaras, Doukissa, Voskopoulos and others.She named as "the Greek Janis Joplin," "the Pasionaria of the National Road" (by Manos Hadjidakis), singer that "grabs the ap' song hair and do the very own" (according to Lena Platonos).
She began playing harmonica next to Sophia Vembo. Until the 80's she had not released an album, but it was well known, among of the Athenian public, following her appearances in music venues of Plaka and nightclubs.
Her first studio album, entitled "The Eyes of Yiota Yianna" released in 2013.
