1945 – 1949: Studied at Conservatorul București with :
Ioan Dumitru Chirescu (theory - solfeggio),
Paul Constantinescu (harmony),
Alfred Mendelsohn (counterpoint, composition),
Silvia Căpățână (piano),
Vasile Popovici (music history).
Along with his musical studies he attended the Faculty of Philosophy in Bucharest.
1948 – 1952: Deputy Director at Societatea Română de Radiodifuziune.
1952 – 1960: Director at Music Department of the Ministry of Culture.
He has published articles in magazines of the time, made radio and television programs.
He won many prizes with his compositions.
