John Maybury
Real name: John Maybury
British film director, born 25 March 1958 in London, England, UK.Maybury was a face on London's early 80s club scene, a regular at the legendary Taboo. As a film-maker he has directed short films and pop promos for the likes of Rifat Ozbek, Leigh Bowery and Boy George. The most famous of his 50-odd promos is Sinéad O'Connor's "Nothing Compares 2 U".
Nowadays he focuses on full-length movies. He produced his first, "Love is the Devil: Study for a Portrait of Francis Bacon", in 1998.
