X Marks The Pedwalk was started in 1987 by André Schmechta (Sevren Ni-Arb) and his school-friend Jörg Böhme (Regan Eracs) but they used the name Scarecrow at first. André and Jörg made "Black Door" (Scarecrow), "Arbitrary Execution", "Danger/Disease Control", "Abattoir", "Freaks" and "Cenotaph" together then Jörg Böhme left the band. He was replaced by André's brother Thorsten (Raive Yarx). André Schmechta put aside his work on X Marks The Pedwalk in the late 90's to concentrate on his family and career.

X Marks the Pedwalk returned in late 2009/early 2010 with a new album and single, with live shows in 2010.
