Johnny's Hot Shots
American-Finnish folk dance band from Minnesota.

American Finnish Johnny and Einari Kivelä started their musical careers in the early thirties in Jacobson, Minnesota. These boys originated the former Mississiooi Trio, making themselves very popular by touring Minnesota, Wisconsin, and upper Michigan each summer.
After touring several years, Johnny and Einari, seattled in Cloquet, Minnesota, where they continued playing in their own dancehalls, namely, Central Hall and Dutch Gardens, up until the start of WW2.
After their discharge from the Armed Forces, Johnny Started the band again called Johnny's Hot Shots and toured the country for several years finally settling down in Butte, Montana, with his brother, Einari.
Later, Einari and Johnny, with their wives Irene and Sylvia, respectively, operated the Broadway Bar. Everything from old-tyme waltzes and schottishes to more current hits could be heard every week by Einar on his Cordovox and Johnny on the drums.
