Jaafar Hassan (born in Khanaqin, Northern Iraq) is an Iraqi Kurdish political singer, composer and musical arranger. He started his career in 1958 and has has releases 20 albums in addition to music composed for plays. He plays several instruments, amongst them oud and violin.

He left Iraq in 1978. From 1978 - 1997 he lived and worked in Aden, Southern Yemen. He returned to Northern Iraq / Kurdistan in 2004
