Buz Butler

Real name: Ellis Butler, Jr.

Effective period / Period of releases: 1949 - 1950

American singer and dobro player. Butler is best known for having performed the original version of "Mule Train" in 1947. He played with Gene Autry and the Cass Country Boys . He recorded for Decca and Mercury in the 1940s and 1950s. Buz retired to Lake City, Florida in 1973 but continued to play in local bands. Michigan Country Music Hall of Fame (1996)

Butler passed away in July, 2002.
