A British-based act formed by Paul Phillips, and Pete Zorn in 1976, and signed to Logo in 1978; after a couple of years demoing their material to a variety of record labels. Whilst he had been working as a taxi driver, Phillips had penned a track called 'Car 67', which he played to Logo suggesting it as a side project. The track was released under the alias 'Driver 67' and reached no.7 in the UK charts, so they continued to use this name for another two singles, but resorted back to Tax Loss in late-1979 for the release of the album, and further singles. By 1981, relations between the band and their label had deteriorated to such a degree that Phillips chose to leave the industry altogether, and with this departure came the demise of Tax Loss. They never gigged.

Zorn, Jenner, Lynn, and Mattacks continued with session work, which they'd all been doing extensively since the early-1970s, and would on occasion end-up appearing alongside each other in various acts, including: Cliff Richard, Hank Marvin, Barbara Dickson, and Richard Thompson, to name but a few. Burgess, who was in the earliest line-up, continued with his own act, Landscape, and to work with artists such as Kate Bush, Spandau Ballet, and Visage. Phillips did eventually return to music in 2008, but has either recorded under his own name, or that of Driver 67.
