Tony Hinnigan

Real name: Anthony James Hinnigan

British musician from Glasgow, Scotland. Player of the cello (trained by William Pleeth) and many indigenous varieties of instruments, most notably flutes, whistles, and pipes. Founded Incantation in 1981-82, alongside Mike Taylor, with whom he had become versed in the folk music of the Andes. With the band, he performed Ennio Morricone's score for The Mission in 1985. Has been involved in film music since: often collaborates with James Horner, and plays cello for The Michael Nyman Band in soundtrack recording sessions and tours.
