Maarja is one of the most popular female singers in Estonia. She has released 11 albums and represented Estonia twice at the Eurovision Song Contest - in 1996 and 1997. One of her albums is a collaboration with a well-known estonian pianist and composer Rein Rannap and the Estonian National Symphony Orchestra. Maarja has received many awards in Estonia, among them Best Female Singer 1997, 1998, 2006 and 2012.
