Genuine brothers, both born and raised in the remote Maui village of Kahakuloa.Solomon Hoopii (or Hoʻopiʻi) was born in 1936 and died on March 2, 2006.
Richard Hoopii (or Hoʻopiʻi) was born on March 15, 1941 and died on March 3, 2018.
2015: Winner of a Nā Hōkū Hanohano Lifetime Achievement Award under the auspices of the Hawaiʻi Academy of Recording Arts.
