The Fabulous Performers were actually the same singers as the Informers, a Philadelphia soul group that put out two mid-'60s singles on the small J-Rude label. The Informers were put on hold in mid-1967 when Marshall and Jenkins were drafted into the Army. When they re-formed after those two got out of the Army a couple of years later in 1969, they changed their name to the Fabulous Performers, after being told another group was using the name the Informers.
The Fabulous Performers broke up after a serious car accident in the summer of 1971.
