Real name: Grover Phillips

Born in September 28, 1963, Dezi Phillips, who grew up in Saginaw, Michigan, released one album, Kickin' It, in 1989 for the defunct record label, Tabu Records. The album was produced by Bernard Terry, who also produced for Ready For The World, Mary Davis (S.O.S, Band), and MC Breed.

The singles Phillips released were 'Didn't Do It' and 'Why You Wanna'. The latter single reached #45 on the R&B charts in the summer of 1989. The album also had the gentle ballad 'This Ring (Is For You)'. He was the nephew of Blues singer Jimmy Reed. Phillips passed away in November 15, 2009.
