VOCOKESH started in 1989/90 when in Wisconsin/US Richard Franecki (guitar, bass, electronics) with Jan Schober (drums) and Steve Zimmerman (electronics) begun to play together. VOCOKESH's debut though was 'Ispepnaibara' in 1990 with Lars Kwam as guest on saxophone.

The sound can be considered as an avantgarde blend of psychedelic and space. This is often begin from a blues themes and mixed with kraut rock portions here and there.
