KIRMIZI is founded by Idil Cagatay and Asli Polat at 2005 in Istanbul. Self titled first maxi single “KIRMIZI” (Red) has been released at March 2010 and two videos shot for both songs, Veda Etme and Kirmizi.KIRMIZI released their debut album “ISYAN” (Riot) at March 2011, which is "Turkey's first female rock/metal band album". ISYAN is produced by Idil Cagatay and Asli Polat and labeled by Idil Cagatay & Asli Polat’s own record company RedRec Music.
First video shot to the hit song "Cekilin Basimdan" (Get Away) and then second video came for the song "Geri” (Back).
KIRMIZI dived into water for “Elveda” (Farewell) and shot an underwater performance of Idil Cagatay. She had diving and under water acting lessons from professional divers.
KIRMIZI was Ozzy Osbourne's personal choice as an opening band at Istanbul Concert 2010 at Turkcell Kurucesme Arena.
KIRMIZI was invited to one of the biggest European festivals, Festival Mundial, Tilburg, Netherlands.
İSYAN album has strong interest at international arena. Album is on air and in podcasts in US, Argentina, Mexica, Chile, U.K. radios.
KIRMIZI shared stage with worldwide known musicians as Ozzy Osbourne, Arch Enemy, Haggard, Destruction and supported by these artists and bands.
KIRMIZI has been selected to first 8 bands among 252 bands to perform at well known European promoter Fritz Rau’s Project “Eurock Marathon 2012” in November at Berlin, Germany before Nina Hagen and won 2nd award.
KIRMIZI also created “Rock meets Orient” project with famous Turkish belly dancer Asena. Led Zeppelin’s legendary song Kashmir is performed by a symphonic orchestra and a rhythm orchestra together with a rock band and a belly dancer to represent the culture mixture of East and West.
KIRMIZI was on stage as a guest star at the 7th Episode of the most beloved TV Serie "Yalan Dünya"
KIRMIZI supports “100.000 SMS Against Violence” campaign of “Fighting against Domestic Violence” platform by dedicating a song named “Araf”(Purgatory) to all violented women in Turkey, and works for the campaign.
KIRMIZI consists of Idil Cagatay (Vocals, Guitars, Harp), Asli Polat (Drums), Ecem Otgucuoglu (Bass Guitar) and Fulya Akgun (Electro Guitar).
KIRMIZI share their internal riot with the audience by their lyrics that express the “Red” character, naming the band and original sound without being tied to any type.
