The Williams Sisters

Members: Hannah Williams (3), Dorothy Williams (5)

Originally from Scranton, Pennsylvania, the Williams Sisters consisted of Dorothy Williams and her younger sister Hannah Williams (1911-1973).

The Williams Sisters began performing in vaudeville, as pre-teens, around 1918. They appeared in Broadway shows in the 1920s, including the 1924 version of George White's "Scandals."

They recorded under their own name for Victor and as vocalists on records by Charley Straight And His Orchestra (Brunswick) and Ben Pollack And His Californians (Victor). They also appeared as vocalists in a Vitaphone short by Roger Wolfe Kahn And His Orchestra in 1927. Hannah Williams was later a solo artist.
