Laye (stylized as laye) grew up in Montreal but her desire for new experiences, expanded learning and increased collaboration drew her to Toronto, Los Angeles, New York and beyond. She ravenously attended writing camps and recording sessions and kept adding songs to her works-in-progress. Between August 2017 and April 2018 laye wrote approximately 50 songs working with established producers including Lauren Christy (G-Eazy “Me Myself and I” Dua Lipa “Blow Your Mind”), FNZ (G-Eazy, A$AP Rocky, Denzel Curry, Fetty Wap), Ben Harrison & Ibrahim Asmar (Rihanna, Rita Ora, James Arthur, Blvk Jvck), Joel Stouffer (Bülow, Dragonette, Ria Mae), Pomo (Anderson .Paak, Mac Miller).

Debut album "lonesome" appeared in July 2019.
