Musical educator, composer, conductor, and author (born May 18, 1901 in Salinas, Kansas – died September 24, 1968 in Brewster, New York).

Wilson earned a BS at Manhattan (Kansas) State College (1926); MA at Columbia (1932); and his PhD in Education (1937) after attending the Juilliard Graduate School of Music. He was music director for public schools in Eureka, Kansas (1926-1929) and Hastings-on-Hudson, New York (1932-34), and was in charge of music activities at New College, Columbia (1934-39), followed by a professorship and leading vocal and choral activities at Columbia University's Teachers College (1939-58), where Dr. Wilson was chairman of music and the music education department from 1958-1966.
