The Bridge

Real name: Richard Anderson

Effective period / Period of releases: 2013

The Bridge is the musical project of London based graphic designer Richard Anderson.

Profoundly affected at a young age by the synthesizer sounds of 1979-81, and partly shaped by the political upheavals, economic vandalism and fear of nuclear war during the difficult decade that followed, he has always been drawn to a minimal, ostensibly austere aesthetic, but one balanced with open, raw emotions, nostalgia and spontaneity.

Inspiration includes abstract art, design, avant-garde cinema, classic Science Fiction and the resurgent ethos of DIY minimal wave.

The electro homage to Martha and The Vandellas classic 'Nowhere To Run' reflects a long held fascination with Motown - Detroit, the city in ruins which truly represents the American century, the best and the worst, the rise and the fall.
