ROT ON THE MARCH took place in december 2011 after Alex leave Five Times Defeat (gothic rock | Voronezh, Russia). Alex began recording the album in January 2012. "Era of the Penultimate Steps" was released in Russia and Germany in 2013.
There was canonical gothrock but a lot of listeners found it exciting. At the same year the band becomes the duet. 3-song EP "Crippling Dances" was recorded in 2014 with new lead vocalist Pavel. ROTM starts to sound less traditional and takes something from coldwave and darkwave.
