Timo Andres (born 1985, Palo Alto, California) is an American composer and pianist based in Brooklyn, NY. He received both bachelor's and master's degrees from the Yale University School Of Music, and is currently one-sixth of a composers' collective Sleeping Giant. Andres has commissioned works for Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra, The Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra, New World Symphony Orchestra, Orpheus Chamber Orchestra, Elias String Quartet, Jonathan Biss and The Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra, Kirill Gerstein, Third Coast Percussion, Attacca Quartet, The New York Philharmonic Orchestra, Takács Quartet and other musicians and ensembles. He has toured the United States with Gabriel Kahane, and frequently appears with Philip Glass, performing Glass' complete piano Etudes.
