Born February 11, 1918 on a plantation 28 miles outside Greenwood, Mississippi, USA, died November 27, 2013.
Moore arrived in Chicago in 1951, but worked mainly outside of music, making his recording debut only in 1995 on a Brewer Phillips Delmark album, recording a first album of his own the same year.
(Moore's birthdate has been reported differently by different sources; in the liner notes of Aaron’s Boot ‘Em Up CD, Steven Sharpe lists Mr. Moore's birthdate as February 11, 1928 (reportedly from Aaron himself) but Aaron’s wife (via a note from Michael Frank of Earwig Records) reports year of birth as 10 years earlier.)
