He was born into a family of Romanian peasants from Bihor, originally from Săliște de Beiuș, Bihor county, refugees to Brașov, between 1940 and 1944, when Northern Transylvania was occupied. His father was a master potter, and his mother, Ileana, been adept at erasing choices. She is the sister of the poet Gheorghe Pituț and the parish priest of the Beiuș Orthodox Church, Ioan Pituț.
After completing her studies, she worked as a librarian in Criștioru de Jos, Rieni and Dobrești. He debuted in 1960 on the stage of the House of Culture in Ștei. In 1964, he got married and settled in Bucharest.
In 1966, he made his debut at the Romanian Broadcasting, with the Popular Music Orchestra of the Radiodifuzioni, led by the conductor George Vancu, and at the Romanian Television. In the same year, his first record appears at "Electrecord" House.
Between 1967-1970, she was a popular music soloist of the "Barbu Lăutaru" Orchestra of the "George Enescu" Philharmonic, an orchestra disbanded in 1970, and between 1970-1975 she was a soloist of the "Doina" Artistic Ensemble of the Army - Bucharest.
Since 2000, Viorica Flintașu has been a member of the Academy of Traditional Arts in Romania
