German NDW band from BerlinThe band name refers to Stanisław Lem's book "Der Futurologische Kongress" (1971, german translation 1974)
They formed from the core of the trio Trio Heyder-Wastel-Tröndle in 1981 and self-published their debut "Posthum". After winning a band contest, their winning title "Heimatlied" was pressed as price of the competition. After getting broadcasted in TV by Sender Freies Berlin, the band was signed by Teldec and released via Wagner Tonträger. During 1982 the band grew up to 13 musicians. They recorded and released 2 albums and a couple of singles till 1984, their third LP stayed unreleased due to disputes in the band. The band disbanded 1984 till 1992 and reunited as "Futurologen" to release a new LP "Feuer.
