Akaten is an experimental 'convenience store punk' band, formed in 1995 by Tatsuya Yoshida and Atsushi Tsuyama with the motto of 'irresponsibleness' and 'perfunctoriness'. They use everyday objects like scissors, toothbrushes, zippers, camera, and plastic bottle alongside real instruments and humorous lyrics (consisting of various American brand names, etc) in their live performances and studio recordings.
