Cliff Portwood (17/10/37 - 10/01/12) was an English professional footballer who played for Preston North End, Port Vale, Grimsby Town & Portsmouth in a career lasting from 1955-69. After moving to Melbourne, Australia he became a successful singer, gaining 5 gold records. He returned to the UK in 1982 and recorded a song with some of the players from the England team which won the 1966 FIFA World Cup. According to Wikipedia, the song was pulled due to a licensing issue on the B-side.
