His first project was called "Shortman" and ran from 1991 to 1994. Then he was diagnosed with schizophrenia and locked in a mental hospital in 1995. When he got out, he used relearning to play music and learning to make art again to put his brain back together somewhat and recorded as Inspector 22 from 1997 to 2015. And since 2015 he have recorded under his own name. He is based in Asheville, North Carolina.
