Originally from Wantage, Oxfordshire and called Vade Mecum, they released their first album 'One Eyed Poker' in 2002. Playing regularly in and around Oxford at that time, but by 2003 they had changed their name to The Thieves and soon had their sights on conquering America. The cover artwork for 'One Eyed Poker' was updated and reissued for 'The Thieves'. Extensive touring in America led to their debut release as The Thieves, the 2005 'Tales From The White Line'.
