Born Luis Antonio Dámaso de Alonso on December 11, 1905 in Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua, Mexico, died May 15, 1994 (aged 88), Beverley Hills, California, USA. Roland was an actor with over 140 credits who kept his good looks well into middle age. He was married to Constance Bennett and later Guillermina Cantu.He had two children with his first wife. His brother Fransisco Day aka Chico Day was involved in film work as a Second Unit Director, Assistant Director and Production manager.

Roland's earliest credited role appears to be Carl Peters in The Plastic Age, a 1925 comedy romance starring, Donald Keith and Mary Alden. From there until the 1970s, he had many roles including Gunsmoke as Lt. Julio Chavez in Episodes: "Extradition" parts 1 & 2 (1963). In 1974, Roland starred in The Pacific Connection, a martial arts film which also starred Roland Dantes, Nancy Kwan, Guy Madison, Alejandro Rey and Dean Stockwell. His last film role was Don Braulio in the Western, Barbarosa which starred Willie Nelson, Gary Busey and Isela Vega.

With a career spanning six decades behind him, he retired in 1982. He died in 1994 of cancer.
