Ciro Rimac
Real name: Ciro Campos Rimac
Peruvian dancer, bandleader, percussionist, vocalist and songwriter.Born January 31, 1895 Lima, Peru.
Died September 8, 1973 Miami, Florida, USA.
Rimac was especially popular in Europe in the 1930's with a rumba band. He danced with Brazilian singer Carmen Miranda in the 1945 film "Doll Face".
At the onset of the world war, he relocated to the U.S. and create a variety group that included a full-size band that performed typical South American music and dances. Besides being the leader, he would also dance. The Rimac Revue crossed the U.S. three separate times.
