Mexican jazz singer, pianist, drummer. Freddy Noriega was born on September 8, 1936 in Mexico City; passed away on August 4, 2001. He began to study music where he could and with whom he left. The drums were the first instrument to be mastered and with him he got involved and began to "palomear", playing informally as a guest, with the jazz greats of those times: Tino Contreras, Chilo Morán, Víctor Ruiz Pasos, Mario Patrón, Richard Lemus . Soon he also mastered the piano and in the sixties he formed a trio with Francisco Becerra on double bass and Mario Villanueva on drums. Internationally, Freddy Noriega played drums in the group of the American Fred Tatman, and as a singer he alternated with figures such as Tony Benett, Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr, Nancy Wilson and many more. His greatest success, among many, was Farolero.
