Lt Col Paul J Neville OBE MVO FRAM RM served as Principal Director of Music Royal Marines 1968-78. 'Silver Bugles' is one of his march compositions. Following retirement from the Corps he has had an active musical career as the conductor of the Kent Concert Orchestra and the Marlowe Concert Band. He also directed the All Stars, a concert band formed in 1989 entirely from retired Royal Marines musicians.
