Sonofabeat started out in Saguenay (Québec, Canada) in 1993 with 4 high school buddys that wanted to play fast melodic punk rock. They had influences from californian and european punk rock. They gathered more and more shows and finally were playing a lot with Quebec bands and even with international acts such as MxPx, Bracket or No Use For a Name. In 1998, a conflict in the band's view made Sonny leaving the band. But that didn't stop them! Max took the vocal spot and Bede, one of the band's friend has joined on the bass. After a lot of line-up changes and people starting to move out of the city, SOAB broke up in 2001.
