Originally hailing from Scotland, Stewart Irving was on an extended trip to South Africa and was just about to return home when he got invited to front for the then popular South African band Ballyhoo. He made the position his own and quickly established himself as one of the most popular vocalists in SA. He also made an impact as a solo artist, with hits like ‘Superstar’ and ‘Heart of Stone’ elevating him to the musical elite in South Africa.
