Born 27-08-1953, Richard Mitchell is a South African sound engineer/producer with a long career that includes stints at , Downtown Studios, BOP Studios and Leading Edge Studios, Johannesburg. He has recorded top South African jazz legends such as Hugh Masekela, Sibongile Khumalo, Jonas Gwangwa and Ray Phiri. He also was producer for diverse South African artists and groups.

Richard now holds the title of Chief Audio Engineer at RM Recordings.
