Real name: Clem marise Voltine

Originally from Martinique, Mac Gregor moved to Abidjan in 1979 in search of what she calls her "quest for blackness". Until her death in April 2004, she sang of her love for her adopted city. A visionary composer, poet and singer, mixing Creole, French and nouchi (local slang), she has built a musical bridge between the West Indies and Côte d'Ivoire, supported by a group of leading Ivorian musicians.
