Dmitry Rogal-Levitsky (July 2 (14), 1898, Uspensky mine, Olekminsky district, Yakutsk region, Russian Empire - December 17, 1962, Moscow, USSR) - Soviet musicologist (instrumentalist) and teacher. An unsurpassed master of orchestration, Rogal-Levitsky played a significant role in the development of the orchestral suite genre; his practical activity as a connoisseur of the symphony orchestra is an important page in the history of Russian (Soviet) musical culture.
