Herman Rechberger
Real name: Herman Rechberger
Herman Rechberger (Feb 14, 1947 in Linz, Austria – Jan 11, 2022 in Helsinki, Finland) studied graphic art and guitar in Linz before then in Zurich and Brussels. He lived in Finland since 1970 and became a Finnish citizen in 1974. He studied composition at the Sibelius Academy with Aulis Sallinen and electronic music with Osmo Lindeman.Rechberger worked as a producer of contemporary music at the Finnish Broadcasting Company and was Artistic Director of the FBC's Experimental Studio 1979-1984. He worked later as a composer in residence and received in 1995 a 15 year grant from the Finnish Government. His works were awarded in numerous international as well as in national contests.
