Its Chilean-Bolivian conjunction made Kollahuara one of the most outstanding Andean groups in the musical history of our country because it managed, perhaps like no other, to capture and then project the most genuine roots of the highland culture. Born at the same time as Illapu, at the beginning of the 1970s, Kollahuara distinguished itself from the beginning of the Antofagasta group by capturing a repertoire absolutely folded into the Andean heritage. For this reason, perhaps his popularity did not rise as much as that of Illapu, but in return he achieved the recognition of the experts.
