He was born September 22, 1933 in Asbury Park, N.J. and died December 4, 2009 in Los Angeles, CA.
As a child actor, he appeared in 22 films in the 1940s. As a grown up he focused on music and played an important role in evolving the special "West Coast sound", inlcluding his groovy organ soul jazz on various Pacific Jazz releases. His most active recording time were the 1960s. He never really retired and played live till 2007.
