Michael "Mick" O'Regan was born in Cobh, Ireland, on June 24, 1962. Mick began his working with music in his teens, and pursued it actively while a student at the Cork University College. After finishing his studies, he moved to London, where he in 2008-09 recorded his first album, under the pseudonym Dennis Regan, which he described as "a toothless, homeless ballad singer from my imagination". With the album becoming a moderate success in the UK and Ireland, Mick recorded his second album in 2011, and his third in 2013, with occasional singles in between.

His best known and most successful single, "Rebel County Boy", reached #4 on Nashville FM Radio charts in 2013.
