A Suffolk-based singer-songwriter who released one album in 1988 and toured with Roy Harper before returning to teaching in 1992. The John Leckie-produced Hunger, gained good reviews, and was favourably compared to Roger McGuinn. Varda’s songs are full of dark imagery and introspective observations. The album also included contributions from Roy’s son, Nick Harper. He released 3 more albums between 2003 and 2014, the year he died from a rare form of cancer.
