Judy Carol

Real name: Juanelda Marie Carter

American vocalist who performed with the orchestras of Lucky Millinder and Marl Young. She also had vocal roles in Duke Ellington's "Jump For Joy" and Bill Robinson's "Born Happy". She was featured with Count Basie at the Orpheum in 1942, and appeared in films "Presenting Lily Mars" and "Stormy Weather" in 1943. In 1946, she was a part of Hollywood Gang Revue, starring comedians Ben Carter and Mantan Moreland, and the Basin Street Boys, Nina Mae McKinney, and the Saunders King band.

She was briefly married to Marl Young in the late 1940s (married in 1948).
