Jo Ann Miller

American pop and jazz singer, actress, and theatre manager from TexasMiller graduated from Texas Woman’s University in 1949 with two arts degrees. She continued to study archeology at Columbia University in New York. However, after joining the cast of an off-Broadway show, she found her true passion in theater arts, and she became a well-known singer, actor, dancer and comedienne on stage and in nightclubs. She also managed a summer stock theater in Cooperstown, New York for 14 years. In 1975, she became the director of the Granbury Opera House, which had been newly renovated after being closed since 1911. Miller held the position for over 25 years.
