He is the son of Rolf Björling and the grandson of Jussi Björling. Raymond Björling graduated from the Stockholm Academy of Opera in 1989.

He is also known as Ray The Hoss - one of the members of the Grammy Award-winning music collective CowboyBengts TM.

Raymond Björling was awarded the Little Brother Söderlundh scholarship together with Pär Sörman and the Aurum trio in 2007.
