Desperado

Effective period / Period of releases: 1978

Members: Carlo Karges, Bruno Schaab, Reinhold Goosen, Mick Kessler

German hard rock group, with a blend of British and German rock styles. The group was founded 1975 in Oldendorf in northern Germany by Mick,Kessler. The group had various connections to Guru Guru and the two groups played a couple of shows together right from the start. The bonds between the groups tightened, when Desperado moved to Grombach in southern germany in 1977 and played at the very first Finkenbach Festival (that then was organized by Guru Guru). In southern Germany Bruno Schaab (ex-Guru Guru) joined the group. Despite a record contract with WEA, the group did not manage to release a commercial studio album, because they intended to debut with a live album, much to the dislike of the record company. Their debut then would finally be released on their own label instead. The group disbanded in 1978 after Mick Kessler was sentenced for some time in jail for a drug deal.
