English fiddle, viola, mandolin and guitar player and songwriter. Played with Fairport Convention from 1969 to 1984, and worked with Martin Carthy from 1966 to 1969 and again from 1989, he also has had numerous solo and other releases.

Born: 5th April 1941, in New Malden, Surrey, England.
Died: 3rd June 2016, in Wales. [emphysema, aged 75]

Swarbrick was married several times. First wife was Birgitte Swarbrick with whom he had daughter Sys Swarbrick.
