The Four Ekkos hail from Rochester. They paired up with rockabilly singer Jerry Engler to cut the record "Sputnik Girl" in 1957. After befriending label mate Buddy Holly, Jerry Engler split and went solo. As they went their separate ways, The Four Ekkos cut two more records, "Toodaloo Kangaroo" b/w "My Love I Give" and "Hand in Hand" b/w "Think Twice".
