Klein Erna („Little Erna“) is the butt of Little Erna jokes popular in Hamburg, Germany. This fictional character derives from a real person named Erna Nissen († 1958), who failed to christen a ship when she was a little girl. The story of her misadventure was soon extended with other stories that would make up their own joke genre.Writer Vera Möller (1911-1998) collected many of the Little Erna jokes. The jokes became popular in the 1960s, resulting in various records and stage shows, as well as the 1969 movie "Klein Erna auf dem Jungfernstieg" (Soundtrack: Gerhard Winkler, Heidi Kabel, Gitta Zeidler, Rodney Geiger - Klein Erna Auf Dem Jungfernstieg).
Klein Erna has been spoken by various artists. In the 1969 movie Klein Erna was played by Gitta Zeidler.
