(August 8, 1913, Yaroslavl, - September 28, 2004, Moscow)Russian Soviet playwright. Laureate of the State Prize of the USSR (1967). Author of more than 20 plays and 6 screenplays, including the play "Forever Alive" and based on it - the script of the film "The Cranes Are Flying." Academician of the Russian Academy of Letters. Was president of the Russian Academy of Theatre Arts and a member of the Writers' Union.
